We normally purchase material on either an EXW or FOB basis, with sales being taken on a CFR basis - handling all the logistics and freighting in-between, creating an effective bridge between our suppliers and customers.

Steel Scrap: Product

Heavy Melting steel (HMS)

HMS 1 - Old steel predominantly above 6mm in thickness
HMS 2 - Old steel predominantly below 6mm in thickness
Typically supplied for export as a ratio of HMS 1 to HMS 2 such as HMS 1/2 80:20 meaning 80% HMS 1 and 20% HMS 2.
Wrought iron and / or steel scrap in sizes not exceeding 1.50m x 0.60m x 0.60m (or as otherwise agreed) prepared in a way to ensure compact charging. May include tube and hollow section, wire rope, properly prepared material from dismantled vehicles and other miscellaneous items of old steel scrap.

Shredded

Old light steel arising from white goods, car bodies or other light steel fragmentized into small pieces and magnetically separated from dirt, free non-ferrous metals and other foreign material. Free from incinerated material, turnings, borings, tin cans.
Density may vary according to source and customer requirements but typically supplied as 70 lbs/cbft (or 1.1mt/cbm) minimum.

PNS

Plate & Structural steel scrap. Consists of cut structural scrap and plate arisings predominantly with minimum thickness 6mm. For example, clean open hearth steel plates, crop ends, bar, girder, angles, and other structural shapes.

Cast Iron

Available as either homogeneous pieces of cast iron such as cast iron chairs from railroads as in the photo opposite or mixed cast iron pieces originating from a miscellaneous variety of uses.
Typically supplied in works’ furnace sizes.
